Every year, ENERGY STAR releases a list of the most energy-efficient appliances on the market. While several different makes and models made it onto this year’s list, here’s a handful of the most highly-rated products for you to consider.
Miele dishwasher – Model G 6875 SCVi
Top rated in energy efficiency, this full-sized stainless steel dishwasher automatically detects the number of dishes so it never uses more water or electricity than it needs. It also features a display screen that lets you know the estimated consumption of each wash cycle.
Bosch refrigerator - Model B10CB80NVB
This sleek 24” stainless steel Bosch refrigerator made the list because it uses only 314 kilowatts of energy per year, compared to the 500 kilowatts of the average fridge. It also features energy-efficient LED lighting and an alarm that will sound if the refrigerator door isn’t closed all the way or accidently left open.
Samsung washer – Model WF45K6200AZ
For an energy-efficient washer that you can control from your smartphone, Samsung has you covered. Using an average of only 75 kilowatts of energy per year, this front-load washer is equipped with Smart Control, allowing you to start, pause and monitor your washing cycles from virtually anywhere. It also features a door-within- door design so if you forget to pop something into the wash, it can easily be added mid-cycle.
LG dryer – Model DLHX4072W
Unlike vented dryers, dryers fitted with heat pumps, like this LG model, use hot air to absorb moisture from your clothes in order to dry them more efficiently. In fact, this model uses 53% less energy every time you dry while its extra-large capacity lets you wash fewer loads faster.
