Current rates in the Sonoran wastewater district

EPCOR applied in August 2022 with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) to review and update rates in the Arizona (Agua Fria, Anthem, Mohave, Sun City and Sun City West areas) wastewater, Luke 303 wastewater, and Rio Verde water and wastewater districts. In April 2024, the ACC approved new water and wastewater service rates*. These new rates are effective April 1, 2024, and more accurately reflect recent costs to provide safe and reliable service.

As a result of this Decision, the ACC authorized a partial consolidation for wastewater approach that fully consolidates rates for the Arizona
and Luke 303 wastewater districts and partially consolidates the rates for the Rio Verde wastewater district without increasing Rio Verde wastewater residential rates. The newly consolidated wastewater districts will now be known as the Sonoran wastewater district.

ACC Regulatory Assessment Charge

As a customer of a regulated utility in Arizona, you will see the "ACC Regulatory Assessment Chrg" on your bill each month. This charge is adjusted each year and applies to both residential and non-residential customers. Included in the fees for those services is an assessment fee that all regulated utilities in Arizona pay to support the operational costs of the ACC and the Residential Utility Consumer Office (RUCO).
