Start natural gas at your home

Follow our 5 easy steps to apply for a natural gas connection and start your service with EPCOR.

ON THIS PAGE

Step 1: Apply for natural gas service

We'll be installing the gas mainline on your street and we can establish a connection to you property.

Apply for gas service online or by print.

For documents not completed online, you can submit by:

Step 2: Fill out the Meter Request form

You might not be able to complete all the fields in the form without assistance. We kindly ask that you provide at least the following details when submitting the form:

  • Contact and property information
  • Preferred meter location on your property
  • Type of gas appliances and fixtures you plan to use and quantity
  • Obstructions on your property that would impede installation (ex. septic, water systems, irrigation lines etc.)

Once completed, we'll come out for an initial site visit, and when finalized, install the meter and natural gas line.

Do not disconnect your fuel source or remove any equipment until after your natural gas service has been installed and the appointment for your meter activation has been booked.

Step 3: Set up your natural gas account with EPCOR

In order to get your account started, you'll need to send us a completed preauthorized payment form. We will enroll you in automatic withdrawal once your natural gas service starts.

We'll also accept:

  • Reference letter from another natural gas vendor or electricity provider
  • $300 security deposit which will be added to your first natural gas bill once service begins (this amount will be refunded to you once you have an established credit history with us for 12 months)

Step 4: Contact a heating (HVAC) contractor

The HVAC contractor will work with you to:

  • Assess connection requirements
  • Identify and inspect all appliances and equipment you want connected to natural gas
  • Discuss other appliance options you've been considering, such as a gas stove, outdoor gas fire pit or gas barbeque

We recommend reviewing your contract with your existing heating provider so you can provide suitable notice within the terms of your agreement.

Step 5: Contact EPCOR for a natural gas site visit and to start service

You or your HVAC contractor must contact us to arrange a final site visit. We'll work with your HVAC contractor to turn on your meter and inspect and light your natural gas equipment and/or appliances.
