Advanced meters

Making smart choices

We have tremendous opportunities to use energy more wisely by conserving and trying to use energy during times when consumption is lower. Advanced meters, together with time-of-use (TOU) prices that encourage us to think about how and when we use electricity, help us to reduce the need for new electricity generation in Ontario.

Your EPCOR electricity meter accurately measures the amount of electricity consumed over an entire billing period. These "advanced meters" are read electronically and transmit the values directly into our billing system.

Advanced meters record consumption in hourly increments and send us the information remotely. This separates the hourly data into 3 groups of time-of-use periods.
