Flood prevention home inspection

Our free flood prevention home inspection service helps residential homeowners in Edmonton identify and resolve drainage deficits on their property to minimize the risk of flood damage to their homes.

Flood Prevention Program

The Flood Prevention Program offers an inspection of your property, going through an evaluation checklist to identify steps that will help you maintain good drainage and minimize the risk of future flooding on your residential property.

Appointments are for homes in the City of Edmonton only.

Program details

  • When weather permits (generally between April and October), a full inspection will be done of the property, including both the interior and exterior of the home. This will also include a review of the eligibility for the Backwater Valve Subsidy Program to help offset some of the cost of the installation of a backwater valve.
  • When weather does not permit (generally November to March) the inspection will focus on the interior of the home, including a review of the eligibility for the Backwater Valve Subsidy Program to help offset some of the cost of the installation of a backwater valve.

If an interior inspection was done of your home, the Flood Prevention team will follow up with you to book an exterior inspection when weather permits.
