Rate of Last Resort rates

In Alberta, you have choice. Pick if you pay the current market rate for electricity or a competitive rate with a retailer. 

In Edmonton, EPCOR is your Rate of Last Resort provider. If you have not signed a contract with a retailer, you are on the Rate of Last Resort for electricity. This means you are on a stable rate that does not fluctuate on a monthly basis.

The Rate of Last Resort electricity rate is reviewed and approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission. 

• The current rate period is January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2026.
• No contract necessary 
• One bill for your electricity and water service
