Water and wastewater service fees and special rates

Some of our services are provided at an extra cost.

The service application fee is $25 for all new or changed water services accounts within the City of Edmonton.

While the rates below apply to all of our customers, they most commonly apply to seasonal customers who request water and meter connections and disconnections.

Applicable if you require a meter reading on a date other than when it's normally scheduled to be read that month.

Applicable if we must complete your monthly meter read in person for:

Non-standard meter read because no response was received or you declined the installation of a standard meter: $49.03
Meter read due to confirmed customer AMI opt-out: $25 (effective September 1, 2025)

Applicable if after we install a standard water meter, you want to revert back to a non-standard meter.

We can repair or replace damaged water valves, meters, remote meter reading devices or other EPCOR equipment or appurtenances that are located on a customer's property.

Actual cost plus $100

Please do not use, alter, change or repair any EPCOR assets, such as a water valve, hydrant, sanitary, storm or combined sewer infrastructure. This charge is applicable if a customer damages or tampers with one of our assets.

Actual cost to repair plus $250.

Applicable if we make a service call to thaw your frozen water service.

First visit - no charge
Second visit - $300 per hour

Applicable if you miss a scheduled appointment with an EPCOR representative.

Applicable if one of our representatives misses a scheduled appointment with you without giving reasonable notice.

Applicable if you don't allow us access to read your water meter for six consecutive months.

Construction service charge is $0.44 / $1000 of construction cost.

Sewage delivered by truck to the Poundmaker Wastewater Transfer Station (excluding the first steering axle): $28.65/axle (GST exempt).

Wastewater having a settleable solids concentration greater than 100ml/l will be charged twice the rate of the above (for 2025: $57.30/axle, GST exempt).

The cost of this service is $175.00 per titled lot and is invoiced the month after the record search is issued.
